Holdings Key in Integration of Petchem Export: Official

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- A petrochemical official says petrochemical holding companies can ensure integration of exporters provided that they establish esprit de corps.

 

Speaking to NIPNA, Farnaz Alavi, director of planning and development at the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), export plans need to be carried out with the cooperation of petrochemical producers across the country and holdings can play an important part in this regard. 

She said petrochemical facilities mush set in motion export policies in accordance with international markets and regional conditions.

As she said, one thing is certain and that is the necessity of integration of petrochemical exports across Iran. 

Iranian petrochemical companies can currently supply over 60 million tons of petrochemicals annually of which over 30 percent is exported. 

The official further argued that major investment is needed in the sector in order to accelerate its progress. 

She added that enhancing production capacity and boosting export of petrochemicals are top on NPC’s agenda which can only be materialized by the cooperation of petrochemical industrialists.
