Phase III of Pardis Petchem Plant Operational Soon

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The managing director of Pardis Petrochemical Plant said the facility's third phase is nearly complete and will come online in a few weeks.

 

Speaking to NIPNA, Bahman Zamani said the unit is being prepared for startup and the project will come on-stream in the next few weeks.

Once operational, the project will bring the facility's urea output from 2.15 million tons per year to over 3.225mt/y, Zamani said. 

The plant supplied a total of 3.3 million tons of urea and ammonia last calendar year which ended on March 20, added the CEO, saying it has targeted 5.3mt of output this year.  

Phase III of the plant will add 1.75mt/y of to the facility's production capacity.

Construction of the first phase of the plant began in 2001 and it came online in 2007 and its second phase became productive in 2010. 

It is fed by the gas recovered from different phases of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field.
