Speaking to NIPNA, Hamid Hosseini, a member of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines & Agriculture, said Iran's petrochemical sector is attractive for foreign investors and highly potent for absorbing finances.
He said the sector witnessed a major leap under President Rouhani's first term in office, adding that the growth in feedstock supply to petrochemical facilities heralds raised petrochemical output in the country in the current calendar year.
Hosseini further added that the progress in the sector will continue under President Rouhani's second term.
President Hassan Rouhani won a landslide victory in the presidential election that was held on Friday.
"Besides feedstock, investment opportunities are ripe in Iran for international companies to step in petrochemical projects and it is expected that more foreign investment will be made in the sector in the current calendar year," he added.
