TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The Spanish ambassador to Tehran said a company has been established for providing guarantees for deals between Spanish and Iranian companies for developing petrochemical projects in Iran.

Eduardo López Busquets told a meeting with Managing Director of National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marziyeh Shahdaei that Spain is keen on establishing a framework for accelerating interactions between Spanish and Iranian companies in order to facilitate financing of projects and exports of petrochemicals.

He said Spanish banks are also ready to offer guarantees for deals signed in Iran's petrochemical industry.

Financing of projects and trade via Spanish banks with European companies will be a possibility in the near future, the official said.

Shahdaei's meeting with the Spanish official was held on the sidelines of the 22nd Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show-2017) on Sunday.

The showcase is being held with 4,000 exhibitors from across the globe running 1,800 pavilions.

1,016 pavilions are representing 2,500 Iranian firms while 811 other pavilions represent nearly 1,500 foreign companies from 37 countries.

Exhibitors from China, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Russia, Japan, Austria, South Korea, the US, and Australia are running stalls at the 4-day showcase.
