Speaking to NIPNA, Mehran Tarbiat said he expects that the plant’s production capacity will reach 250,000 tons per year by the end of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20.
Construction of the facility began in 2013 and it became operational in 2017 but was officially launched last week by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
The plant is currently operating at 45% of its nameplate capacity but will reach full production tilt by the end of the year, said Tarbiat.
He also said his company has so far sent sample cargoes to customers in Azerbaijan, Turkey, China, Russia, etc. and expects to start exporting large quantities to them in the future.
An investment of $120m and IRR2,500b was made for construction of the project, he added.
