Speaking to reporters on Monday, Mehran Tarbiat said the company is also eyeing supply of 3,500 tons of the item on the domestic market during next year.
The plant has been operating at 40% of its nameplate capacity of 250,000 t/y offering 9,500 tons of polystyrene since inauguration in September 2016.
He said the facility has earned 5 to 6 billion Iranian Rials since its startup.
Before the plant's inauguration, Iranian producers supplied a maximum of 40,000 tons of polystyrene per year. The country also imported at least 60,000 tone of the item every year.
