Boosting Petchem Output, Exports Key NPC Strategies Next Year

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Director of Planning and Development of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Farnaz Alavi says boosting the country's petrochemical output and exports are being seen as key strategies of the sector in the coming year in Iran.

 

She said pursuing development projects in the sector will be top on NPC's agenda next year in a bid to strengthen Iran's toehold in international markets and supply the domestic markets with petrochemical products. 

Iran is currently producing 60 million tons of petrochemical products and expects to increase its annual production capacity to 180mt/y in the next 10 years. 

During the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20, Iran launched several key petrochemical projects and is bound to launch several others in the New Year.
