The official said the plants are being built for the supply of feedstock to other plants and will be built with an investment of $8.5 billion.
Shahdaei, who is also deputy petroleum minister in petrochemical affairs, added that 30 projects are planned to be constructed in the petrochemical sector under the plan in Iran with 40 billion dollars of investment.
The plants will be supplying various petrochemical products including urea, ammonia, GTPP, GTO, aromatics, olefins, PDH and downstream products which would add 49 million tons to Iran's total petrochemical output.
She said 21.4 million tons of the items can be sold in the market fetching the country some $21.1 billion annually.
