TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Managing Director of Kavian Petrochemical Plant Ramezan Owladi said the facility is feeding ethylene to the West Ethylene Pipeline in a sustainable manner.

Speaking to NIPNA, the official said ethylene injection to the pipeline is being carried out without any trouble, despite the recent cold snap that gripped southern provinces of the country.

Kavian Petrochemical Plant is located in southern Iran and feeds West Ethylene Pipeline with ethylene used for feeding 12 petrochemical plants in western provinces of the country.

Owladi said harsh climatic conditions in recent days did cause some trouble for the facility which were soon sorted out and supply of ethylene is being carried out without any problem for the time being.

The plant sends 150 tons of the item per hour.

Construction of the pipeline began in 2002 in a bid to feed petrochemical in western provinces of the country which are mostly under developed and suffer high rate of unemployment.
