Addressing a ceremony to launch Takht Jamshid and Karoon petrochemical projects in Mahshahr petrochemical zone, southwestern Iran, the official said that the Rouhani administration had planned to launch 120 economic projects across the country during the current year that has been named by the leader as the year of Economic Resistance: Practice and Action, saying many of these projects are petrochemical ones.
He said $6b is the overall value of the projects launched or planned to be launched in the petrochemical sector this year, saying that petrochemical projects tap domestic capabilities and prevent sale of crude oil and gas.
The official further said that tackling unemployment and increasing production in the country are two major features of the petrochemical sector of the country.
