TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- A member of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC)'s board of directors called for unity of petrochemical holding companies in the country in order to bolster the sector.

Speaking to NIPNA, Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of production control at NPC, underlined the necessity of positive interactions between petrochemical holdings in the country in order to secure a strong toehold in international markets, saying fortunately the holdings are at good terms.

"We hope we will be able to ensure a stronger presence of Iranian companies in international arenas," he added.

The future will be pretty bright for Iran's petrochemical industry and all the sector's potentialities must be tapped in order to materialize the envisaged goals for the industry, the official added.

Iran has put so much focus on export of petrochemicals in its 6th five-year development plan (2016-2021).

Petrochemical exports account for 31% of Iran's non-oil exports and 35% of the country's revenues out of industrial products' export.
