Mohammad Hossein Maqazehei told NIPNA that the plant has resorted to Chinese catalyst suppliers in order to obtain its needs after the European suppliers decided to stop cooperating with the plant thanks to the US-les sanctions on Tehran’s nuclear agenda.
He said previously the plant operated at a very low percentage of its capacity but it is now operational at 90% of its capacity.
The CEO said the plant has no trouble in its operation for the time being and is being fed by the West Ethylene Pipeline.
The plant has been put together with SPHERILENE technology licensed by Basell and designed by TECNIMONT.
Its has the capacity to supply 300,000 tons of heavy and light density linear polyethylene and is touted as one of Iran’s biggest polymer plants that can supply various grades of injection moulding, extrusion coating, rotomoulding and film.
