NPC: 5 New Petchem Projects Ready for Startup

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iran is to launch 5 new petrochemical projects during the Fajr Decade, marking anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, a senior petrochemical official said.

 

Managing Director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marziyeh Shahdaei said on Sunday that 5 projects will come on-stream during the Fajr Decade and three other ones will come online by the end of the current calendar year to March 20 or early next year.

Phase II of Kavian Petchem Plant (with 1mt/y output), phase II of Morvarid plant (with 550,000 tons of annual output), Entekhab Plant (with 250,000 tons of output per annum) and phase II of Pardis Petrochemical Plant (with one million tons of output per annum) will become operational during the decade. Only Pardis will be officially inaugurated by the calendar yearend.

Iranian petrochemical plants can supply over 64 million tons of petrochemicals annually which will reach 100 million tons within the next 5 years, she said.

Iran has exported 9 million dollars of petrochemicals since the beginning of the year.
