Masjid Soleyman Petchem Project Operational by March 2019

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The first phase development of Masjid Soleyman Urea and Ammonia project will come on-stream by March 2019, the plant’s CEO said.

 

Speaking to NIPNA, Managing Director of the project Yousef Davoudi said the first phase of the project has made 30% physical progress so far. 

Once operational, the project will supply 1.07 million tons of urea and ammonia per annum to be sold on domestic and foreign markets. 

He said the project is being developed with Chinese finance and its first phase will come online by March 2019. 

He said 850 people are employed in the project currently for installation projects. 

Once operational the plant will required 2,000 people as its personnel, Davoudi added. 

The official further added that the complex can serve as the second petrochemical hub of the Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran. 

He said the facility will be able to gather 30 million cubic meters of associated gas every day to turn it into medium products and then end-user petrochemical projects and has signed agreements with a number of foreign partners in this regard.
