New Pressure Station Ready for Operation in Western Iran

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – The director of the West Ethylene Pipeline project said a pressure boosting station in the western city of Sanandaj is ready to pump ethylene to its adjacent petrochemical facilities.

 

Speaking to NIPNA, Masoud Meisami said the facility will start operation once Kurdistan Petrochemical Plant is ready for startup. 

The West Ethylene Pipeline carries the ethylene produced by Kavian Petrochemical Plant, southern Iran, to several petrochemical facilities across the country's western territories. 

Kurdistan Petrochemical Plant is expected to come on-stream by March 2017, he said, adding the pipeline has no limits for supply of feedstock to the facility. 

Over 1,700 kilometers of the 2,700-km West Ethylene Pipeline has become operational. 

The projects is being laid out based on the latest international standards. 

It crosses 11 provinces in western Iran and feeds 12 facilities that are either operational are under construction with an investment of over $8.5b.
