Speaking NIPNA, the official said the island can provide the necessary feedstock and utilities to petrochemical facilities.
He said agreements have been made for construction of petrochemical plants to be run by 25 mcm of natural gas at the island.
Momeni said the organization also guarantees supply of utilities like water and power to petrochemical units in the zone.
“We are planning to build units for supply of water, steam and power as utilities in the island so that the plants will operate without any worries in the future,” he added.
The official said permits for construction of three polypropylene plants have been obtained in the island and the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) will supervise their operation.
He also said calls for construction of plants by leading Japanese and Korean firms have been submitted to the organization and their proposals are being studied.
