TEHRAN (NIPNA) — Russia is in dire need of petrochemical products and Iranian producers of the goods must close ranks to strengthen Iran’s toehold in the Russian market, said head of the Iran-Russia Economic Chamber.

Speaking to NIPNA, Asadollah Asgaroladi said for the time being production of petrochemicals is not a profitable business in Russia and the country’s market is ripe for receiving cargoes from Iran.

He said more efforts must be made to introduce Iran’s petrochemical potentialities to Russian customers and all the petrochemical industrialists in Iran must join hands to strengthen the country’s presence in the Russian petrochemical market.

“Iranian exporters must run pavilions at Russian exhibits to get to know with Russian customers and initiate talks with them,” he added.

Asgaroladi underlined last year’s presence of Iranian exhibitors at Russia’s petrochemical showcase in which a number of useful deals were struck between Iranian suppliers and Russian customers.

He further said the quality of Iranian petrochemical goods is at an acceptable level given international standards.
