TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh stressed the necessity of observing health, safety and environment regulations by petrochemical plants in their operations, warning that the consequences of overlooking the rules will be grave.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the 13th Iran National Quality Award on Tuesday, Zangeneh said the recent incidents in a number of petrochemical facilities were resulted by human mistakes and overlooking HSE measures in their activities.
He also overruled the possibility of the incidents being caused by external factors, saying the relevant resources have confirmed that the incidents were only caused by human flaws.
The top Iranian energy official said it has been made clear that human forces were responsible for the blazes in Bou Ali and Bistoun petrochemical plants.
