Shiraz Petchem Co. Eyes Sending 1st Urea Cargo to Africa

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Shiraz Petrochemical Company has started talks with a number of African customers for exporting petrochemicals to their countries, the company’s managing director said.

Abdolreza Zareei told NIPNA that his country has exported so far exported an urea cargo to Brazil and is currently in talks with a number of African countries like Nigeria, Mozambique, Algeria, Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa for exporting products to them. 
Iran is currently supplying 5.5 million tons of urea annually which is expected to cross 20 million tons a year by the end of the 6th five-year development plan to 2021. 
Iran’s total petrochemical output stood at 22.7 million tons by October 21, end of the 7th month in Iranian calendar, adding production from 21 petrochemical plants rose by at least 10% during the same period.
