Speaking to NIPNA, Reza Amiri said the plants operating at the complex processed 2.5 million tons of different types of petrochemical products, up by 20% year-over-year.
He said, however, that despite the rise in the volume of the produced items, their value did not rise much from a year ago due to the drop in petrochemical prices in global markets.
The official also said that liquefied petroleum gas, propane and butane were the major products offered by the complex’s facilities during the period, adding that most of these items are exported to international markets and only a small portion is consumed domestically.
He further said exports fetched $400m in revenues for the complex which is almost unchanged from last year.
