NPC in Talks with German Firms

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Managing Director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marziyeh Shahdaei says her company is in talks with foreign companies including German ones for their engagement in Iran’s petrochemical projects.

 

She said many German firms have signaled their readiness to join petrochemical projects in Iran, adding she had talks with Germany Deputy Minister of Economy in Tehran and discussed how German firms can join petrochemical projects in Iran. 

She said leading chemical companies from Germany like the BASF, the Linde Group and Air Liquide are finalizing talks to join projects or fund petrochemical ones in Iran. 

Shahdaei, who is also deputy petroleum minister in petrochemical affairs, also said technical difficulties hinder the presence of foreign companies in Iran which include banking restrictions and money transfer. 

She also added that talks with German firms are a little different from that with companies from other countries because German companies are keen are carrying out studies over projects without signing any documents or MoUs.
